Phil Ranelin, legendary Jazz trombonist and Indianapolis native son, will be inducted into the Indy Jazz Foundation Hall of Fame on September 17th in Indianapolis, Indiana. This year’s festival pays tribute to Wes Montgomery, one of Ranelin’s early influences. As a newly inducted member of the Indy Jazz Foundation Hall of Fame, Ranelin will play this year’s festival at the Jazz Kitchen on September 19th. Featured with Ranelin will be the same great rhythm section that played the festival with him in 2014, Kevin Anker - Piano, Thomas Brinkley - Bass and Greg Artry - Drums. Rounding out the sextet are two prominent horn players from the Indianapolis Jazz scene, Clifford Ratlif -Trumpet and Rob Dixon- Tenor Saxophone. ...
